Clarion Gaming to present CHIPS powered wheelchairs at ICE London

Clarion Gaming to present CHIPS powered wheelchairs at ICE London

Clarion Gaming will be using ICE London, its flagship event, to present two bespoke powered wheelchairs as part of its partnership programme with children's charity CHIPS. Born out of the gaming industry, CHIPS has donated 520 wheelchairs to children with severe mobility issues. Chairs, which are designed for the specific needs of each child, cost an average of £7,000 each.

Eight-year-old Evie Saxelby and 11-year-old Luke Ktorides, are the latest beneficiaries of Clarion Gaming's fundraising on behalf of CHIPS. Evie has been diagnosed with Charcot?Marie?Tooth disease (CMT), which is characterised by progressive loss of muscle tissue and touch sensation, and Luke has Cerebral Palsy, which limits his mobility and causes poor balance due to muscle loss.

Linda Lindsay, who co-founded CHIPS and has helped raise more than £2.2m, all of which has gone towards the provision of wheelchairs, said: ?ICE London is the must-attend business event for the international gaming industry and virtually all of our supporters participate either as exhibitors or delegates. To have such a flagship event supporting CHIPS is wonderful and, as a charity, we're hugely grateful that Kate and the team at Clarion Gaming will be providing the gift of freedom to two young children and their families at this year's event. I am hugely grateful Clarion Gaming is supporting a charity which was created by the gaming industry and for their ongoing support."

Commenting on the presentations ahead of this year's ICE London, Kate Chambers, Managing Director of Clarion Gaming, said: ?We are proud to continue to be able to support an industry-led charity which undertakes so much valuable work with families in the community. Myself and the team responsible for ICE London are looking forward to meeting Evie, Luke and their families when we make the presentations. Not only is this a hugely deserving cause, but many of the exhibitors and visitors who support our events, most notably ICE in London, are also big supporters of CHIPS, so there is an immediate connection and empathy with the invaluable work it undertakes."

CHIPS continues to set the highest fundraising standards with 100% of monies raised going towards the provision of powered wheelchairs.
